Pick One Project, Any Project

by Trish

If you want to do it, just do it.

So my project for the “Anti-Perfectionism Game” is a picture book manuscript that I’ve had in the back of my head for a decade. Finally met an editor I’d like to see work on it with me at a nice publishing house. This week’s goal will be to reread what I have, review some submission guidelines, and make sure I know the format that a PB has to be in. I’ve also roughed out some of the text and am hand sketching pictures that I think would work there, just so I can picture it in my head better. I don’t plan on sending anything but text to the editor, however, as I trust a publishing house editor to make illustration decisions.

If you’ve got a project in mind, what is it? And if you don’t have a project in mind, this week, your job is to pick one. Just one. We’ve got six months and in April, you can start another one, but for now any ideas you have that help you stray away from this one project should be jotted down for future reference and filed away for April 2011. Okay?

So, what’s YOUR project?
