About
I was born an entrepreneur. I have always found a way to cash in on one thing or another from teaching piano, babysitting, and cleaning houses, to selling lemonade, life insurance, magazine subscriptions, and candy bars. Before I even got out of high school, I had thought up countless business ideas. By the time I got to my twenties, I finally found my niche.
I started real/brilliant, inc. in 1995 and have never looked back (well, maybe a few times). In 2005, the social media bug bit and I started my first blog. My blogging and social media addiction has only grown since. In 2007, I began blogging for clients and in 2009, I am looking to add a few lucky folks to my client list.
However, before people actually need a blogger, they may need to really stop and think about what kind of returns they expect from social media: more clients, more profit, better exposure, brand-building? A blogger can augment a business/entrepreneur’s social media goals, not actually do it all. A blogger for hire can’t set up a blog for you, SEO is not often included (I sometimes offer it, but it costs more), and bloggers like myself aren’t webmasters. You may need to figure out if you really are ready to launch into social media without knowing what it will take to make it successful.
Hiring a writer is a solid first step for those clients who are ready and able and have a clear idea of what they would like me to write about. I specialize in business and entrepreneurism, marketing and communications topics. I also write several other blogs that don’t fall into those categories (legal, medical).
I’m on Twitter @trishlawrence and I’m on email: realbrilliant@mac.com
I welcome the opportunity to talk about how social media and blogging can help expand your business.
Thanks!
