So, author Alice Hoffman didn’t like a review of her new book and used Twitter to berate the reviewer and to encourage folks to contact the reviewer in order to berate her as well. Nice behavior.
I think we can call get that this sort of behavior isn’t really proper for Twitter. If you can’t handle being reviewed, why are you writing in the first place? Some of my pieces are not popular with my readers. Sometimes this blog gets no response to a post, and that’s fine. I figure if everyone told me how wonderful my writing was all the time, I’d get as full of myself as some authors. And I love Alice Hoffman’s writing. But this is really pathetic.
If we can’t handle peer review, we’re getting a bit too full of ourselves.
