Authors Have to Be Entertaining or Informative

by Trish on September 5, 2010

There’s no way around it.

Cancel the flash site. Don’t just throw up a picture of your book cover or yourself and call it good.

What are you adding to the conversation?

What are you giving to your audience?

A pretty web site isn’t going to cut it anymore.

1. You’re informative or entertaining by blogging, Tweeting, and interacting.

2. You’re not interesting because you look good in a professional photo.

3. Your fancy website (if not informative or entertaining) is nothing more than a banner ad and banner ads don’t sell books.

4. If you don’t feel you have anything to say to your readers, get a new career.

5. Being informative or entertaining is not rocket science. Just think about what you can share right now.

Go do it.
