If you don’t have an RSS feed, don’t be like me and keep putting it off. It is so EASY!
Read on!
Go to Feedburner.com right now.
Click the “Get Started Feedburning Now” button.
You’ll be asked to create an account with an email address and password, which you’ll need to enter twice. This is now integrated into Google, so you could just use your Google email and password if you have one.
Type your blog address into the “Burn a feed right this instant” box. Press Next.
Go to Publicize tab. Go to Chicklet Chooser. Choose the big RSS symbol (like in this blog post). And then copy the html in the html box.
Go to your blog (Blogger or WordPress) and using either Blogger’s handy wizard, add this html to the sidebar of your blog, or using WordPress’s handy widgets function, create a new widget (html) with your RSS feed.
It’s that easy. You can even allow readers to sign up via email and add in other popular feeds, like My Yahoo or Google or Bloglines (as I’ve done on this blog). And you’re set up for RSS. Now, you’ll have to revisit your Feedburner.com account to see how many subscribers you have at any given time. A good goal for your first six months is 100 subscribers. Now go to it!
