A long overdue item on both my blogs is going up this week: the multiple optioned RSS feed. I’ve had countless requests and finally am putting my energy toward it. Woohoo!
For those who aren’t exactly sure what I’m talking about, check out this quick tutorial real quick. Don’t forget to come right back!
RSS can be used two ways on your blog: subscribe to the feed or subscribe to get a list of new posts via email daily or weekly. It helps to include both options on your blog. Some folks read all blogs in their RSS readers (Google Reader, Yahoo), whereas other folks will want to read your posts in an email format (I do this a lot as I check email constantly).
The reason to have both is that it provides more options and makes you look as if you’re truly attempting to help make your readers’ lives easier (well, aren’t you?). It’s a way to provide good customer service as well. (Well, it’s this week’s theme, okay?)
So, check out your blog’s RSS options and if you need to make some upgrade, there are tutorials here. To set up RSS feeds, go to Feedburner.
Have a great Monday!
