and don’t sell anything! Just check in to see how they are doing and if things have changed at all. Check to make sure you know everyone’s correct names and titles and that the buying/purchasing process is the same. It’s a complimentary call to find out if they were completely satisfied with the previous project and if there’s anything you need to know to make the next project better. Keep the call short, under 5-10 minutes and don’t go off on a tangent about your life. This is about your client.
If you can’t call your previous clients, how about sending them a postcard or a letter. Or you might invite them to participate in a customer satisfaction survey. Above all, don’t MAKE them do anything major to fit into YOUR business process. Make sure you come across as someone who is interested in what THEY have to say, not just the category answers to fill your survey quota.
