I’ve begun a year-long class via the excellent teachings of Jimmy Brown and Nicole Dean (a fellow Mom Masterminds member; you don’t have to be a Mom to join as they let me in years ago) on outsourcing and organizing a business so that I focus on the core activities rather than doing all sorts of other things that don’t really keep the focus.
The first class has me thinking about some vital aspects of building a business debt-free (Seth Godin calls this bootstrapping it; here is his Bootstrapping Bible ebook for free) and focusing on the core tasks that I’m most interested in. What do I want to do with my business? So I’ve spent this first week of the month thinking through these core aspects. It’s a good thought process for me. I tend to go here there and everywhere with too many goals and too much that distracts me (yes, I’m quite distractable).
This week I’ve been working hard on that one core area. And I already see how I can outsource tasks that I just don’t have time to complete. I see how I can do what I love and have others do what I don’t love (um, paperwork, usually). It’s a powerful thing to know what to do each morning when you get up.
